I said to Ibn Abbas, "They have mentioned that the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Bathe on Friday, wash your heads even if you are not in a state of major impurity, and apply some perfume.'"Ibn Abbas replied, "As for the bath, yes, but as for the perfume, I do not know."In another narration from Tawus, from Ibn Abbas, he mentioned the statement of the Prophet ﷺ regarding bathing on Friday.I said to Ibn Abbas, "Should he apply perfume or oil if it is available with his family?"He answered, "I do not know of that."
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Friday Prayer (884, 885) and Muslim narrated it in the Book of Friday Prayer (848), both through Tawus, from Ibn Abbas, that he mentioned the statement of the Prophet ﷺ concerning ghusl on Friday. Tawus said, "I asked Ibn Abbas, 'Should he also apply perfume or oil, if he has some at home?'" He said, "I do not know of that." The wording given here is Bukhari's.
