The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "When it is Friday, the angels sit at the doors of the mosque and record the people in the order they arrive, ranking them by their standing. One man is like someone who offers a camel, another like one who offers a cow, another like one who offers a sheep, another like one who offers a chicken, another like one who offers a sparrow, and another like one who offers an egg. When the muezzin calls the prayer and the imam sits upon the pulpit, the records are folded up, and the angels enter the mosque to listen to the remembrance."
عن رسول الله ﷺ، أنه قال: إذا كان يوم الجمعة قعدت الملائكة على أبواب المسجد، فيكتبون الناس من جاء من الناس على منازلهم فرجل قدم جزورا، ورجل قدم بقرة، ورجل قدم شاة، ورجل قدم دجاجة، ورجل قدم عصفورا، ورجل قدم بيضة. قال: فإذا أذن المؤذن وجلس الإمام على المنبر، طويت الصحف، ودخلوا المسجد يستمعون الذكر.
Imam Ahmad reported it (11769), Yaqub told us, my father told us, from Ibn Ishaq, who said, Ala bin Abdul-Rahman told me, from his father, from Abu Saeed, and he mentioned it. Its chain is hasan because of Ibn Ishaq, who explicitly stated that he heard it directly, and his hadith is hasan. Likewise, Ala bin Abdul-Rahman's hadith does not fall below the level of hasan. Imam Ahmad's teacher, Yaqub, is Ibn Ibrahim bin Saad Zuhri. Haythami said, "Ahmad reported it, and its narrators are trustworthy."
