The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever bathes on Friday, wears his finest clothes, applies perfume if he has any, then comes to the Friday prayer without stepping over people's necks, prays whatever Allah has decreed for him, and listens attentively when his imam comes out until he finishes his prayer, it will be an expiation for whatever sins occurred between that Friday and the one before it."Abu Hurairah used to add, "And three extra days as well," and he would say, "For a good deed is rewarded tenfold."
Abu Dawud (343) narrated it through multiple routes from Muhammad bin Ishaq, from Muhammad bin Ibrahim, from Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman and Abu Umama bin Sahl, from Abu Saeed Khudri and Abu Hurairah, and they both related the hadith. Its chain of transmission is hasan. Muhammad bin Ishaq, though he was a mudallis, explicitly stated that he heard the hadith directly in the version recorded by Imam Ahmad (11768), Ibn Khuzayma (1762), and Hakim (1/283). This removes any suspicion of tadlis.
