I asked Anas, while we were heading from Mina to Arafat, about the talbiyah, "How did you used to do it with the Prophet ﷺ?"He replied, "Some would recite the talbiyah and no one objected to them, and others would say the takbir and no one objected to them."
سألت أنسا- ونحن غاديان من منى إلى عرفات- عن التلبية: كيف كنتم تصنعون مع النبي ﷺ؟ قال: كان يلبي الملبي لا ينكر عليه، ويكبر المكبر فلا ينكر عليه.
Bukhari narrated it in Eidayn (970), and Muslim in Hajj (1285), both of them through Malik bin Anas, from Muhammad bin Abu Bakr Thaqafi, who related it. The wording given is Bukhari's, and Muslim's wording is close to it.
