The Prophet ﷺ was handed a bow on the day of Eid and delivered the sermon while leaning on it.
أن النبي ﷺ نوول يوم العيد قوسا فخطب عليه.
Abu Dawud (1145) narrated it from Hasan bin Ali, who said, Abdul-Razzaq related to us, Ibn Uyayna informed us, from Abu Janab, from Yazid bin Bara, from his father, and he related it. Abu Janab is Yahya bin Abu Haya Kalbi, the Kufan, who is disputed. Ibn Saad, Yahya bin Saeed, and others graded him daif, while most of the imams said, "He is truthful but engages in tadlis." I say, someone like this, when he explicitly states that he heard directly, is accepted as corroborating support but not relied upon as primary evidence.So we looked further and found that Bayhaqi (3/300) narrated the hadith through another route from him, saying, Yazid bin Bara bin Azib related to us, from Bara bin Azib, who said, We were sitting in the prayer ground on the day of sacrifice when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us. He greeted the people, then said, "The first rite of your day today is the prayer." He then went forward and prayed two units of prayer, then gave the closing greeting. Then he turned to face the people, and he was handed a bow, or a staff, and he leaned on it, praising Allah and extolling Him. End of narration.
