The Messenger of Allah ﷺ prayed the Eid prayer at the prayer ground with a spear set up in front of him as a sutrah.
أن رسول الله ﷺ صلى العيد بالمصلى مستترا بحربة.
Ibn Majah (1306) narrated it from Harun bin Saeed Ayli, who said, Abdullah bin Wahb told us, who said, Sulayman bin Bilal informed me, from Yahya bin Saeed, from Anas bin Malik, and he related it. Its isnad is sahih, and Busiri graded it sahih in Zawaid bin Majah.Nasai also narrated it in Kubra (1783), and Ibn Khuzayma in his Sahih (809), both of them from Yunus bin Abdul-Ala, who said, Ibn Wahb told us with this account, and their wording is, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying toward it at the prayer place," meaning the spear.
