There was no adhan called on the day of Fitr, nor on the day of Adha.
لم يكن يؤذن يوم الفطر، ولا يوم الأضحى.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Eid (886) via Abdul-Razzaq, who said, "Ibn Jurayj informed us, Ataa informed me, from Ibn Abbas and from Jabir bin Abdullah," and they both mentioned it.Ibn Jurayj said, "Then I asked him about that after a while, and he informed me, saying, 'Jabir bin Abdullah Ansari informed me that there was no adhan for the prayer on the day of Eid al-Fitr when the imam came out, nor after he came out, and no iqamah, no call, nothing at all, no call that day and no iqamah.'"Ibn Jurayj also said, "Ataa informed me that Ibn Abbas sent word to Ibn Zubayr, when he was first given allegiance, saying that adhan used not to be called for the prayer on the day of Eid al-Fitr, so he should not call adhan for it." He said, "So Ibn Zubayr did not call adhan for it that day." He also sent word to him saying, "The sermon comes only after the prayer, and that is what used to be done." He said, "So Ibn Zubayr prayed before the sermon."Bukhari mentioned it with a suspended chain (959, 960), and Bukhari narrated it in the Book of the Two Eids (960) through another route from Ibn Jurayj, but without mentioning the story.
