The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would not set out on the day of Fitr until he had eaten some dates. In another narration, he would eat them in an odd number.
كان رسول الله ﷺ لا يغدو يوم الفطر حتى يأكل تمرات. وفي رواية: ويأكلهن وثرا.
Bukhari related it in the chapter on the two Eids (953) from Muhammad bin Abdul-Rahim, who said, Saeed bin Sulayman narrated to us, Hushaym narrated to us, who said, Ubaydullah bin Abu Bakr bin Anas informed us, from Anas, and he related it.
