The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever spits in the direction of the qiblah will come on the Day of Resurrection with his spittle between his eyes. And whoever has eaten from this foul vegetable should not come near our mosque for three days."
عن رسول الله ﷺ قال: من تفل تجاه القبلة جاء يوم القيامة تفله بين عينيه، ومن أكل من هذه البقلة الخبيثة فلا يقربن مسجدنا ثلاثا.
Abu Dawud (3824) narrated it from Uthman bin Abu Shayba, who said, Jareer told us, from Shaybani, from Adi bin Thabit, from Zirr bin Hubaysh, from Huzaifa, "I think it is from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ," and he mentioned it. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Shaybani is Abu Ishaq Sulayman bin Sulayman, one of the men accepted by the entire community of scholars and reliable. Ibn Khuzayma (1663) and Ibn Hibban (1643) graded it sahih, and both narrated it through the route of Jareer, in the same way, with Ibn Hibban adding that Ishaq, that is, Ibn Rahawayh, said, "He means garlic."
