Itban bin Malik reported,
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us one morning, and a man asked, "Where is Malik bin Dukhshun?"One of our men replied, "He is a hypocrite who does not love Allah and His Messenger."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do you not see that he says, 'There is no god but Allah,' seeking thereby the face of Allah?"The man said, "Yes."The Prophet ﷺ said, "No servant will come on the Day of Resurrection having said it except that Allah will forbid the Fire from touching him."

Sahihعن عتبان بن مالك يقول
غدا علي رسول الله ﷺ فقال رجل: أين مالك بن الدخشن؟ فقال رجل منا: ذلك منافق لا يحب الله ورسوله. فقال النبي ﷺ: ألا تقولوه يقول: لا إله إلا الله، يبتغي بذلك وجه الله. قال: بلى. قال: فإنه لا يوافي عبد يوم القيامة به إلا حرم الله عليه النار.
Bukhari narrated it in "The Retraction of Apostates" (6938), from Abdan, who said, Abdullah informed us, who said, Maamar informed us, from Zuhri, who said, Mahmud bin Rabi informed me, who said, I heard Itban bin Malik, and he mentioned it.The hadith appears in Sahihayn in a longer context, and it has already come up in the chapter "Whoever Dies Upon Monotheism Enters Paradise," and it will also come up in the Book of Prayer.
