We prayed Maghrib with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. Some people left afterward, while others stayed behind for additional worship. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came hurrying, out of breath, with his garment raised above his knees, and said, "Rejoice! Your Lord has opened one of the gates of heaven, boasting of you before the angels. He says, 'Look at My servants. They have completed one obligatory prayer and are waiting for the next.'"
Ibn Majah (801) narrated it from Ahmad bin Saeed Darimi, who said, "Nadr bin Shumayl narrated to us," who said, "Hammad narrated to us, from Thabit, from Abu Ayub, from Abdullah bin Amr." Then he mentioned the hadith. Its chain of transmission is sahih.Imam Ahmad also narrated it (6750) from Affan, "Hammad narrated to us," meaning Ibn Salama. He added at the beginning of the hadith the merit of saying "There is no god but Allah." It will come later in the Book of Supplications.
