The Prophet ﷺ commanded the freeing of slaves during a solar eclipse.
أمر النبي ﷺ بالعتاقة في كسوف الشمس.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Eclipses (1054) and in the Book of Emancipation (2519) through the route of Zaida bin Qudama, from Hisham, from Fatimah bint Munzir, from Asma, and he related it.This is how Zaida narrated it from Hisham, and Utham bin Ali Amiri followed him in this, as Bukhari recorded it in the Book of Emancipation (2520). Bukhari also indicated that Darawardi followed both of them in narrating from Hisham.Others narrated the story of the solar eclipse in detail, except that they did not mention the emancipation of a slave within it. It appears that Zaida and those who followed him did not abridge it from the detailed version, but rather heard it from Hisham in this manner, or that this portion alone constitutes a separate and independent hadith.
