Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

The sun was eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, so the Messenger of Allah ﷺ led the prayer. He stood for a long time, roughly the length of reciting Surah al-Baqarah, then he bowed for a long time, then he raised his head and stood for a long time, though shorter than the first standing. Then he bowed for a long time, though shorter than the first bowing, then he prostrated. Then he stood for a long time, though shorter than the first standing, then he bowed for a long time, though shorter than the first bowing, then he raised his head and stood for a long time, though shorter than the first standing, then he bowed for a long time, though shorter than the first bowing, then he prostrated. Then he concluded the prayer, and the sun had become clear. He said, "The sun and the moon are two of the signs of Allah. They are not eclipsed for the death or life of anyone, so when you see that, remember Allah."The people said, "Messenger of Allah, we saw you reach out for something while standing in your place, then we saw you draw back."He ﷺ said, "I saw Paradise, and I reached out for a cluster of grapes. Had I taken it, you would have eaten from it as long as the world remained. And I was shown the Fire, and I have never seen a sight more dreadful than what I saw today. I saw that most of its inhabitants were women."They asked, "Why is that, Messenger of Allah?"He said, "Because of their ingratitude."It was asked, "Are they ungrateful to Allah?"He replied, "They are ungrateful to their husbands and ungrateful for kindness shown them. Even if you were to treat one of them well your entire life, then she saw something from you she disliked, she would say, 'I have never seen any good from you.'"
