The Prophet ﷺ said, "The sun and the moon do not eclipse for the death of anyone, but they are two of the signs of Allah . So when you see them, stand and pray."
قال النبي ﷺ: إن الشمس والقمر لا ينكسفان لموت أحد من الناس ولكنهما آيتان من آيات الله عز وجل، فإذا رأيتموهما فقوموا فصلوا.
Bukhari related it in the Book of the Eclipse (1041, 1057) and in the Book of the Beginning of Creation (3204), and Muslim in the Book of the Eclipse (911), through various routes from Ismail (that is, Ibn Abu Khalid) from Qays (that is, Ibn Abu Hazim) from Abu Masud Ansari, who narrated it.Muslim added, from another route, from Sufyan and Waki, from Ismail, with this same chain, and in it, the sun was eclipsed on the day Ibrahim died, and the people said, "It was eclipsed because of Ibrahim's death."
