The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah says, 'Son of Adam, devote four units of prayer to Me at the beginning of the day, and I will suffice you for the rest of it.'"
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: إن الله يقول: يا ابن آدم اكفني أول النهار بأربع ركعات، أكفك بهن آخر يومك.
Imam Ahmad (17390) and Abu Yaala (1757) both narrated it through the route of Yazid bin Harun, who said, Abu Aban bin Yazid Attar narrated to us, from Qatada, from Naeem bin Hammar, from Uqba bin Amir, and he related it. Its chain is sahih. Although Qatada was known to practice tadlis, he explicitly stated that he heard directly in another narration from Imam Ahmad (17794), which he narrated from Affan, who said, Aban informed us, saying, Qatada narrated to us, saying, Naeem bin Hammar narrated to us with the same wording.Naeem bin Hammar and Uqba bin Amir are both companions, so the hadith is confirmed as sahih through two routes, and neither route undermines the other. Haythami said in Majma (2/235), "Ahmad and Abu Yaala narrated it, and its narrators are all trustworthy narrators."His statement, "four rak'ahs," refers to the prayer of Duha, according to the most correct of the opinions.
