Ibn Abbas reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ traveled from Medina to Mecca fearing none but Allah, Lord of the worlds, and he prayed two rakahs.
أن رسول الله ﷺ خرج من المدينة إلى مكة، لا يخاف إلا الله رب العالمين، فصلى ركعتين.
Tirmidhi (547) and Nasai (1435) both narrated it from Qutayba bin Saeed, who said, "Hushaym narrated to us, from Mansur bin Zazan, from Ibn Sirin, from Ibn Abbas," and he related it. Tirmidhi said, "Hasan sahih."Imam Ahmad (1852) narrated it from Hushaym with the same chain, adding at the end of the hadith, "until he returned." Hushaym is Ibn Bashir Sulami, one of the narrators accepted by the whole community (al-Jamaah), except that he used to practice tadlis. However, it has been established that he explicitly stated "narrated to us" in the version reported by Tabarani (12863), which removes the suspicion of tadlis from him. Furthermore, it has a corroborating narration, since Nasai also reported it through another route from Muhammad bin Sirin with the same wording.Note, an inversion occurred in the wording in Sunan Nasai at the first instance, where it said, "He went out from Makkah to Madinah," whereas the correct version is the reverse.
