Anas bin Malik was asked about the qunut in the dawn prayer. He replied, "We used to perform the qunut both before and after the bowing."
سئل انس بن مالك عن القنوت في صلاة الصبح فقال: كنا نقنت قبل الركوع وبعده.
Ibn Majah (1183) narrated it from Nasr bin Ali Jahdami, who said, Sahl bin Yusuf told us, who said, Humayd told us, from Anas bin Malik, and he related it. Busiri said, "Its chain of transmission is sahih and its narrators are reliable." I say, it is as he said.Abdul-Razzaq (4966) also narrated it from Abu Jafar, from Humayd, with the same wording, saying, I said to him, "How did you use to recite the qunut?" He said, "In all of that, both before ruku and after it." Imam Ahmad held this view as well, and the preferred position for him is after ruku, as mentioned previously.
