Aishah reported that whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ began a practice, he would maintain it consistently. If he missed his night prayer due to sleep or illness, he would pray twelve cycles during the day.
كان رسول الله ﷺ إذا عمل عملا أثبته، وكان إذا نام من الليل أو مرض صلى من النهار ثنتي عشرة ركعة.
Muslim narrated it in "The Prayer of Travelers" (746:141) from Ali bin Khashram, who said, Isa - that is, Ibn Yunus - informed us, from Shuba, from Qatada, from Zurara, from Saad bin Hisham Ansari, from Ayesha, and he mentioned it.Muslim also narrated it through another route from Qatada, with his chain, at greater length, and it has been documented in its proper place.
