He reported that he asked Ayesha, "How was the prayer of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ during Ramadan?"She replied, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ never exceeded eleven rakahs, whether in Ramadan or otherwise. He would pray four, and do not ask about their beauty and length. Then he would pray four more, and do not ask about their beauty and length. Then he would pray three."Ayesha said, "I asked, 'Messenger of Allah ﷺ, do you sleep before performing witr?'He answered, 'Ayesha, my eyes sleep, but my heart does not sleep.'"
Malik narrated it in the chapter on night prayer (9), from Saeed bin Abu Saeed Maqburi, from Abu Salama bin Abdul-Rahman bin Awf, that he asked Ayesha how the prayer of the Messenger of Allahﷺ was, and the rest of the hadith. Bukhari narrated it in the chapter on tahajjud (1147), and Muslim in the chapter on the prayer of travelers (738), through the route of Malik bin Anas, with the same wording.
