I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying at night in a Hadrami cloak of his, wrapping himself in it, with nothing else on him.
رأيت رسول الله ﷺ يصلي من الليل في برد له حضرمي متوشحا به، ما عليه غيره.
Imam Ahmad (2384) reported it from Yaqub, who said, my father narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, Salama bin Kuhayl Hadrami and Muhammad bin Walid bin Nuwayfi, the freed servant of the family of Zubayr, both narrated to me, from Kurayb, the freed servant of Abdullah bin Abbas, from Abdullah bin Abbas, and he mentioned it.Its chain of transmission is hasan because of Ibn Ishaq, for he has explicitly stated that he narrated directly, and he is truthful. Ibn Hibban (2570) graded it sahih and reported it through the route of Yaqub bin Ibrahim bin Saad, from his father, with this same chain. Muhammad bin Walid bin Nuwayfi is "acceptable" because he has been corroborated.
