Anas bin Malik reported,
Anas reported, "Rain fell on us while we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ drew aside his garment so that the rain touched his body."We asked, "Messenger of Allah, why did you do this?"He replied, "Because it has just come from its Lord, the Exalted."

Sahihعن أنس قال
أصابنا ونحن مع رسول الله ﷺ مطر، قال: فحسر رسول الله ﷺ ثوبه حتى أصابه من المطر، فقلنا: يا رسول الله، لم صنعت هذا؟ قال: لأنه حديث عهد بربه تعالى.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Rain Prayer (898), from Yahya bin Yahya, who said, Jafar bin Sulayman informed us, from Thabit Bunani, from Anas, and he related it. Uthman Darimi also reported it in Radd Ali Jahmiya (76) through another route from Jafar bin Sulayman with a similar chain, and he said, "If it were as these deviant people claim, in every place, then rain would not be any more recently created by Allah than other waters and creatures."
