The Prophet ﷺ used to come to her and take his afternoon nap at her home. She would spread out a leather mat for him on which he would nap. He used to perspire heavily, so she would gather his sweat and put it into perfume and flasks.She said, and he used to pray on a small prayer mat.
أن النبي ﷺ كان يأتيها فيقيل عندها، فتبسط له نطعا فيقيل عندها، وكان كثير العرق، فتجمع عرقه، فتجعله في الطيب والقوارير، قالت: وكان يصلي على الخمرة.
Ahmad (27117) and Tabarani in Al-Kabir (25/122) both narrated it through Wahib, from Ayub, from Abu Qilaba, from Anas, from Umm Salim, who was his mother, and the wording is Ahmad's. As for Tabarani, he confined himself to her saying, "He used to pray on the khumra." Its chain is sahih, and the origin of the hadith is in Sahih Muslim (2332) through Wahib in the same manner, except that it did not mention praying on the mat.Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba narrated it (1/398), and through his route Tabarani in Al-Kabir (25/122), from Abdul-Wahhab Thaqafi, from Ayub, from Anas bin Sirin, from Anas, from Umm Salim, in abridged form concerning praying on the mat.
