Imam Ahmad (16309) narrated it from Abdul-Razzaq, who said, Mamar narrated to us, from Saeed Jareeri, from Abu Ala, in a similar manner. This hadith is found in Musannaf Abdul-Razzaq (1500). Bazzar also narrated it in Kashf Astar (603) from Ahmad bin Abdah, who said, Yazid bin Zuray narrated to us, who said, Jareeri narrated to us, with the same chain, and in it, "I saw the Prophet ﷺ pray in his sandals, then he spat, then he rubbed it with his sandal."Imam Ahmad also narrated it (16310) from Abdul-Razzaq, who said, Mamar narrated to us, from Saeed Jareeri, from Abu Ala, with the same chain, and in it, "I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ praying, then he cleared his throat under his foot, then he rubbed it with his sandal while it was still on his foot." Its isnad is sahih. Although Saeed Jareeri's memory became confused later in his life, Mamar and Yazid bin Zuray narrated from him before that confusion set in.Ibn Hibban also graded it sahih (2184), narrating it through another route from Kahmas bin Hasan, from Abu Ala, from his father, that he saw the Prophet ﷺ praying while wearing a stitched sandal.
