Talq reported, "We came to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ, and a man came and asked, 'Prophet of Allah, what do you say about praying in a single garment?'"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ then loosened his lower wrap, layered his upper cloak over it, and wrapped himself in both. He then stood and led us in prayer. When he had finished the prayer, he said, "Does every one of you have two garments?"
Abu Dawud (629) reported it from Musaddad, who said, Mulazim bin Amr Hanafi told us, Abdullah bin Badr told us, from Qays bin Talq, from his father, and he related the hadith. Its isnad is hasan because of Qays bin Talq bin Ali Hanafi, for he is "truthful."Ibn Hibban (2297) also reported it through the route of Mulazim bin Amr, similarly.
