Bukhari narrated it in the book of tahajjud (1182) from Musaddad, who said, Yahya narrated to us, from Shubah, from Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Muntashir, from his father, from Ayesha, and he mentioned it.He said, Ibn Abu Adi and Amr followed him in narrating it from Shubah.Nasai also narrated it (251/3) through the route of Uthman bin Umar, who said, Shubah narrated to us, except that he inserted Masruq between Muhammad bin Muntashir and Ayesha. He said, the majority of Shubah's companions who narrated this hadith did not mention Masruq.I say, this is because Muhammad bin Muntashir's hearing from Ayesha is established, and for this reason Daraqutni classified it in Ilal among the additions found in otherwise connected chains, and the hadith is cited in Minna Kubra (291/2).Imam Ahmad (26021), Ibn Majah (1150), and Ibn Hibban (2461) all narrated it through the route of Yazid bin Harun, and Ibn Khuzayma (1814) narrated it through the route of Ishaq bin Yusuf Azraq, both of them, Yazid and Ishaq, narrating from Jareeri, from Abdullah bin Shaqiq, from Ayesha, who said, and she mentioned it.Jareeri's name was Saeed bin Iyas, and his memory became confused in his later years. Ishaq Azraq and Yazid bin Harun both narrated from him after that confusion had set in, but Bukhari's narration strengthens it, and the Hafiz strengthened its chain in Fath al-Bari (3/47).
