Abu Dawud narrated it (4850) from Uthman bin Abu Shayba, who said, Abu Dawud Hafari narrated to us, who said, Sufyan Thawri narrated to us, from Simak bin Harb, from Jabir bin Samura, who said, then he narrated it as mentioned. Its isnad is hasan because of Simak bin Harb, for his hadith is hasan except in his narration from Ikrima, and this is not from that.Muslim narrated it in "The Mosques" (670:287) via the route of Thawri and Zakariya, both of them from Simak, from Jabir bin Samura, with the wording that when the Prophet ﷺ prayed Fajr, he would sit in his place of prayer until the sun rose fully, without mentioning in it the sitting cross-legged.On this subject there is also a report from Hanzala bin Hudhaym, who said, I came to the Prophet ﷺ and saw him sitting cross-legged. Bukhari narrated it in Adab al-Mufrad (1179) from Muhammad bin Abu Bakr, who said, Muhammad bin Uthman Qurashi narrated to us, who said, Dhiyal bin Ubayd bin Hanzala narrated to us, who said, my grandfather Hanzala bin Hudhaym narrated to me, who said, then he narrated it as mentioned.Muhammad bin Uthman bin Sayyar Qurashi Basri Maysari settled in Wasit. Daraqutni said, "He is majhul (unknown)." And Dhahabi related in Mizan from Azdi that he said, "Daif."
