Whenever the Prophet ﷺ performed ablution, he would pray two units of prayer, then go out to the prescribed prayer.
كان النبي ﷺ إذا توضأ صلى ركعتين، ثم خرج إلى الصلاة.
Ibn Majah (1146) narrated it from Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba, who said, "Abu Ahwas narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, from Aswad, from Ayesha," and she mentioned the same. Its chain of transmission is sahih. Although Abu Ishaq's memory became confused later in life, Abu Ahwas narrated from him before that confusion set in, and it was through this route that the two Shaykhs (Bukhari and Muslim) narrated from him, as Busiri stated in Zawaid bin Majah.
