Abu Hurairah reported,

The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Allah has said, 'Whoever shows enmity to a friend of Mine, I have declared war on him. My servant does not draw near to Me with anything more beloved to Me than what I have made obligatory upon him. My servant continues to draw near to Me through voluntary acts of worship until I love him. When I love him, I become his hearing with which he hears, his sight with which he sees, his hand with which he strikes, and his foot with which he walks. If he asks of Me, I will surely grant him, and if he seeks refuge in Me, I will surely protect him. I do not hesitate over anything I do as I hesitate over taking the soul of the believer. He hates death, and I hate to displease him.'"
