The Prophet ﷺ said, "Do not prevent the female servants of Allah from going to the mosques of Allah, but let them go out without perfume."Ayesha said, "Had he seen the state of women today, he would have prevented them."
عن النبي ﷺ قال: لا تمنعوا إماء الله مساجد الله، وليخرجن تفلات. قالت عائشة: ولو رأى حالهن اليوم منعهن.
Imam Ahmad narrated it (24406), saying, Hakam narrated to us, Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Rijal narrated to us, he said, my father used to mention it from his mother, from Ayesha, and he mentioned it.Its chain is hasan due to some discussion regarding Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Rijal, except that his hadith is hasan. His father, Abu Rijal, is well known by this kunya, which is actually his title, while his real kunya is Abu Abdul-Rahman. He is Muhammad bin Abdul-Rahman bin Haritha Ansari, one of the narrators found in the two Sahihs. His mother is Amra bint Abdul-Rahman, the well known Tabiyah.Hakam is Ibn Musa Qantari, Abu Salih Baghdadi. Ajli and Ibn Saad both declared him trustworthy, and he is "truthful", one of the narrators found in Sahih Muslim. As for Ayesha's statement, it is agreed upon. Malik narrated it in the Book of Qibla (15), from Yahya bin Saeed, from Amra bint Abdul-Rahman, from Ayesha, that she said, "If the Messenger of Allah ﷺ had seen what women have introduced, he would have forbidden them from the mosques, just as the women of Banu Israil were forbidden."Yahya bin Saeed said, So I asked Amra, "Were the women of Banu Israil forbidden from the mosques?" She said, "Yes."Bukhari reported it in the Book of Adhan (869), from Abdullah bin Yusuf, from Malik, with the same chain. Muslim reported it in the Book of Prayer (445), through several chains from Yahya bin Saeed, in the same manner. Her statement, "what women have introduced," refers to adornment, perfume, and fine clothing.
