A man from the Ansar sent word to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ asking him to come and mark out a place for prayer in his home so he could pray there. This was after he had lost his sight. So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came and did so.
أن رجلا من الأنصار أرسل إلى رسول الله ﷺ أن تعال فخط لي مسجدا في داري أصلي فيه. وذلك بعد ما عمي، فجاء ففعل.
Ibn Majah (755) narrated it from Yahya bin Fadl Kharaqi, who said, "Hammad bin Salama narrated to us." Hammad bin Salama narrated it from Aasim, from Abu Salih, from Abu Hurairah, and he mentioned it.Ibn Hibban (4798) also narrated it through Hammad bin Salama within a long hadith.Busiri said in Zawaid bin Majah, "This is a sahih isnad, its narrators are trustworthy, and the unnamed man in this hadith is Itban bin Malik, who appears in the Sahihayn, and in Nasai's narration through the hadith of Itban bin Malik." End of quote. Its isnad is hasan because of Aasim, who is Ibn Abu Najud. There has been some discussion of his memory, though his hadith is regarded as hasan. He is among the narrators found in the Jamaah.
