I pledged allegiance to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on bearing witness that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, on establishing the prayer, giving the zakat, listening and obeying, and offering sincere counsel to every Muslim.
بايعت رسول الله ﷺ على شهادة أن لا إله إلا الله، وأن محمدا رسول الله، وإقام الصلاة، وإيتاء الزكاة، والسمع والطاعة، والنصح لكل مسلم.
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Sales (2157), and Muslim in the Book of Faith (56), both from the hadith of Ismail bin Abu Khalid, from Qays, who said, "I heard Jarir," and he mentioned the hadith. The wording given is that of Bukhari. As for Muslim, he did not mention, "I pledged allegiance upon the testimony that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah."Qays is Ibn Abu Hazim al-Bajali, from Kufah, whose kunya is Abu Abdullah, and he was a mukhadram.
