The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "If people knew the reward in the call to prayer and the first row, and could find no way to obtain it except by drawing lots, they would draw lots for it. If they knew the reward in coming early to the prayer, they would race to it. And if they knew the reward in the night prayer and the dawn prayer, they would come to them even if they had to crawl."
أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: لو يعلم الناس ما في النداء والصف الأول، ثم لم يجدوا إلا أن يستهموا عليه لاستهموا. ولو يعلمون ما في التهجير لاستبقوا إليه، ولو يعلمون ما في العتمة والصبح لأنو هما ولو حبوا.
Malik narrated it in the book of Prayer (3), from Sumayy, the freedman of Abu Bakr bin Abdul-Rahman, from Abu Salih Samman, from Abu Hurairah, and he related the hadith. Bukhari narrated it through Malik's route in the book of Adhan (615), and Muslim in the book of Prayer (437). In a narration by Bukhari (721) it reads, "the front row." This too comes through Malik's route.His use of the word "tahjir" derives from "hajirah," which is the intensity of the heat at midday, and that is the beginning of the time for Dhuhr.
