The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Keep the prayer brief, for behind you stand the weak, the elderly, and those with pressing needs."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: تجاوزوا في الصلاة، فإن خلفكم الضعيف والكبير وذا الحاجة.
Imam Ahmad (10793) narrated it from Yahya bin Hammad, who said, Abu Awana informed us, from Amash, who said, Ibrahim Taymi related to us, from Harith bin Suwayd, from Abdullah bin Masud, who said, and he mentioned it. Its isnad is sahih.Tabarani also narrated it in Al-Kabir (17/12) through another route from Abu Awana, with the same wording, but with "be lenient" instead. Haythami said in Al-Majma (2/73), "Tabarani narrated it in Al-Kabir, and its men are trustworthy."
