We came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as a group of young men close in age, and we stayed with him for twenty nights. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was merciful and tender-hearted. He sensed that we had grown homesick for our families, so he asked us about those we had left behind. We told him, and he said, "Return to your families and stay among them. Teach them and instruct them. When the time for prayer comes, let one of you give the call to prayer, then let the eldest among you lead the prayer."
Bukhari reported it in the Book of Adhan (631), and Muslim in the Book of Mosques (674), both through the route of Ayub, from Abu Qilaba, from Malik bin Huwayrith, who related it.And in Bukhari's version, he mentioned some things, whether I remember them or not, "and pray as you have seen me pray."
