I asked Anas, "When I finish my prayer, which side should I turn toward, my right or my left?"He replied, "As for me, most often I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ turn to his right."
سألت أنسا: كيف أنصرف إذا صليت؟ عن يميني أو عن يساري؟ قال: أما أنا فأكثر ما رأيت رسول الله ﷺ ينصرف عن يمينه.
Muslim narrated it in "Prayer of the Traveler" (708) via Abu Awana and Sufyan, both narrating from Suddi with the same wording. Suddi is Ismail bin Abdul-Rahman bin Abu Karima, Abu Muhammad Kufi, who is disputed because of his Shiism.Imam Ahmad and others deemed him trustworthy. Ibn Madini said, "I heard Yahya bin Saeed say, 'I never saw anyone mention Suddi except with good words, and no one abandoned him.'"Perhaps Muslim, may Allah have mercy on him, found these opinions to carry more weight, so he narrated from him what agreed with the people of the sunnah, and avoided from his hadiths what agreed with his innovation. For at the very least he was "truthful," as Ibn Adi said.Juzjani went to excess regarding him, saying, "A liar, a slanderer," which was his usual habit of harsh criticism toward the people of Kufa and those accused of Shiism. For this reason, the people of Kufa accused Juzjani of hostility toward the family of Ali.
