The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Know that you do not perform a single prostration to Allah except that Allah raises you a degree by it and erases a sin from you by it."
قال رسول الله ﷺ: اعلم أنك لن تسجد لله سجدة إلا رفع الله لك بها درجة، وحط عنك بها خطيئة.
Ahmad (22140) narrated it from Rawh, from Hisham, from Wasil the client of Abu Uyayna, from Muhammad bin Abu Yaqub, from Raja bin Haywa, from Abu Umama, who related it at length. Its chain is sahih, and the discussion of it is set out fully in the Book of Fasting, while the hadith in its full length is mentioned among the reports of Abu Umama in the Book of the Virtues of the Companions.
