The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to recite in the Dhuhr and Asr prayers "By the sky and the night-comer" [Tariq 86:1] and "By the sky containing great stars" [Buruj 85:1] and similar surahs.
أن رسول الله ﷺ كان يقرأ في الظهر والعصر بـ{والسماء والطارق} و{والسماء ذات البروج} ونحوهما من السور.
Abu Dawud (805), Tirmidhi (307), Nasai (979), and Darimi (1293) all reported it through the route of Hammad bin Salama, from Simak bin Harb, from Jabir bin Samura, and he mentioned it. Darimi added, "By Asr" [Asr 103:1].Tirmidhi said, hasan sahih. That is how it appears in one copy, but Munziri quoted from Tirmidhi only the grading of hasan, and that is correct, for Simak bin Harb does not hold the rank of "thiqah" (trustworthy), rather his memory changed in his later years, but his hadith is graded hasan.
