The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would recite in the Fajr prayer on Friday "Alif Lam Mim. The revelation" [Sajdah 32:1–2] and "Has there come upon man" [Insan 76:1].
كان رسول الله ﷺ يقرأ في الجمعة في صلاة الفجر: {الم تنزيل} [سورة السجدة]، و {هل أتى على الإنسان}.
Bukhari transmitted it in the Book of Friday Prayer (891), and Muslim in the Book of Friday Prayer (880), both through Sufyan, from Saad bin Ibrahim, from Abdul-Rahman Araj, from Abu Hurairah, as mentioned. Muslim also related it through Ibn Wahb, from Ibrahim bin Saad, from his father, from Araj, with the same wording, and it states that he used to recite in the dawn prayer on Friday "Alif, Lam, Meem. The revelation..." [Sajdah 32:1–2] in the first rakat, and in the second, "Has there come upon man a period of time when he was nothing worth mentioning?" [Insan 76:1].
