Ahmad (4989), Abu Yaala (5445), and Ibn Hibban (1817) all narrated it through Yazid bin Harun, who said, Ibn Abu Dhib narrated to us, from Harith bin Abdul-Rahman, from Salim, from his father Abdullah bin Umar, and he related the hadith, and the wording given here is his.Nasai (826) narrated it through Khalid bin Harith, from Ibn Abu Dhib, with the same chain, except that he did not mention "the dawn prayer," and it contains, "He used to command us to shorten it, and he led us in prayer reciting Surah Saffat."Ibn Khuzayma (1606) graded it sahih, narrating it through Uthman bin Amr and Khalid bin Harith, who both said, Ibn Abu Dhib narrated to us, and this is the wording of Khalid bin Harith, from his maternal uncle Harith bin Abdul-Rahman, and he related it like the narration of Nasai.Its chain of transmission is hasan, due to the discussion surrounding Harith bin Abdul-Rahman, though he is "truthful."
