I prayed, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ led us in prayer, and he recited, "Qaf. By the glorious Quran" [Qaf 50:1], until he reached, "and the towering palm trees" [Qaf 50:10].
صليت، وصلى بنا رسول الله ﷺ فقرأ: {ق والقرءان المجيد}. حتى قرأ: {والنخل باسقنت}- [ سورة ق: ١٠].
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Prayer (457) through Abu Awana, from Ziyad bin Alaqa, from Qutba bin Malik, and mentioned the hadith. Ibn Uyayna also narrated it, from Ziyad bin Alaqa, with the same chain, and in it, he heard the Prophet ﷺ recite in Fajr, "and lofty palm trees with clustered fruit stalks" [Qaf 50:10]. In the hadith of Shuba, from Ziyad, he recited in the first rakat, "and lofty palm trees with clustered fruit stalks", and sometimes he said, "Qaf." All of these instances were in the first rakat.
