The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to delay the night prayer.In another narration, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to perform the prayers in a manner similar to your prayers, except that he would delay the late night prayer somewhat past the time you pray it, and he kept his prayer brief.In another narration, he would shorten it.
كان رسول الله ﷺ يؤخر صلاة العشاء الآخرة. وفي رواية: كان رسول الله ﷺ يصلي الصلوات نحوا من صلاتكم، وكان يؤخر العتمة بعد صلاتكم شيئا، وكان يخف الصلاة، وفي رواية: يخفف.
Muslim narrated it in "the Mosques" (643) from Abu Ahwas, from Simak, from Jabir, and the second narration is from Abu Awana, from Simak, in like manner.Abu Dawud Tayalisi narrated it in his Musnad (810) from Qays, from Simak, from Jabir bin Samura, with this wording, "The Messenger of Allahﷺ used to pray Dhuhr similar to your prayer, and Asr similar to your prayer, and Maghrib similar to your prayer, and he used to delay Isha somewhat."
