The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of al-Ahzab, "They distracted us from the middle prayer. May Allah fill their houses and graves with fire," meaning the Asr prayer.
قال رسول الله ﷺ يوم الأحزاب: شغلونا عن الصلاة الوسطى، ملأ الله بيوتهم وقبورهم نارا يعني: صلاة العصر.
Bazzar narrated it in Kashf Astar (388), from Salama bin Shabib, who said, Abdullah bin Jafar Raqqi narrated to us, who said, Ubaydullah bin Amr narrated to us, from Zayd bin Abu Unaysa, from Adi bin Thabit, from Zirr, from Huzaifa, and he mentioned the hadith.Bazzar said, Asim narrated it from Zirr from Ali, while Adi said, from Zirr from Huzaifa. Haythami said in Majma (1/309), Bazzar narrated it, and its narrators are the narrators of sahih.I say, Ibn Hibban also graded it sahih (2891), narrating it through Hashim bin Harith Marwazi, who said, Ubaydullah bin Amr narrated it to us in this way, with the wording, "They kept us occupied away from the Asr prayer." He said, and he did not pray it that day until the sun had set.Hashim bin Harith was mentioned by the author in Thiqat (9/244), where he said, "Sound in hadith, though he sometimes narrates unusual reports."
