The Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressed us and said, "Do you not have in me an example to follow?" Then he said, "Truly, there is no negligence in sleeping through a prayer. Negligence lies only with the one who fails to pray until the time of the next prayer arrives."
Muslim reported it in "Masajid" (681) from Shayban bin Farroukh, who said, Sulayman (meaning Ibn Mughira) narrated to us, who said, Thabit narrated to us, from Abdullah bin Rabah, from Abu Qatada, who mentioned it in a long hadith about the incident of oversleeping past dawn prayer.
