Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

An Arabi man from the tribe of Banu Saad bin Bakr came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, "Peace be upon you, young man of Banu Abdul-Muttalib."The Prophet ﷺ replied, "And upon you be peace."The man said, "I am a man from your maternal uncles, the Banu Saad bin Bakr. I am the messenger of my people to you and their delegate. I am going to question you, and my questioning will be intense. I am going to press you, and my pressing will be firm."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Go ahead, brother of Banu Saad."He said, "Who created you, and who created those before you, and who will create those after you?"He replied, "Allah."The man said, "I adjure you by Him, is it He who sent you?"He replied, "Yes."The man said, "Tell me, who created the seven heavens and the seven earths, and made provision flow between them?"He replied, "Allah."The man said, "I adjure you by Him, is it He who sent you?"He replied, "Yes."The man said, "We have found in your book, and your messengers have commanded us, that we pray five prayers by day and night at their appointed times. I adjure you by Him, is it He who commanded this?"He replied, "Yes."The man said, "We have found in your book, and your messengers have commanded us, that we fast the month of Ramadan. I adjure you by Him, is it He who commanded this?"He replied, "Yes."The man said, "We have found in your book, and your messengers have commanded us, that you take from the surplus of our wealth and distribute it among our poor. I adjure you by Him, is it He who commanded this?"He replied, "Yes."The man said, "As for the fifth, I will not ask about it, nor have I any desire for it," meaning the immoralities. Then he said, "By the One who sent you with the truth, I will surely act upon these, as will those of my people who obey me."Then he departed. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ laughed until his back teeth showed, then said, "If he has spoken truthfully, he will surely enter Paradise."

عن ابن عباس قال

جاء أعرابي من بني سعد بن بكر إلى رسول الله ﷺ فقال: السلام عليك يا غلام بني عبد المطلب، فقال له النبي ﷺ: وعليك السلام فقال: إني رجل من أخوالك من بني سعد بن بكر، وأنا رسول قومي إليك ووافدهم، وإني سائلك فمشتدة مسألتي إياك، ومناشدك فمشتدة مناشدتي إياك، فقال النبي ﷺ: دونك يا أخا بني سعد فقال: من خلقك ومن خلق من قبلك ومن هو خالق بعدك؟ قال: الله قال: فنشدتك بذلك أهو أرسلك؟ قال: نعم قال: أخبرني من خلق السماوات السبع والأرضين السبع وأجرى بينهم الرزق؟ قال: الله قال: فنشدتك بذلك أهو أرسلك؟ قال: نعم قال: فإنا قد وجدنا في كتابك وأمرتنا رسلك أن نصلي بالليل والنهار خمس صلوات لمواقيتها فنشدتك بذلك أهو أمرك؟ قال: نعم قال: فإنا قد وجدنا في كتابك وأمرتنا رسلك أن نصوم شهر رمضان فنشدتك بذلك أهو أمرك؟ قال: نعم قال: فإنا قد وجدنا في كتابك وأمرتنا رسلك أن تأخذ من حواشي أموالنا متجعلة في فقرائنا، فنشدتك بذلك، أهو أمرك؟ قال: نعم قال: أما الخامسة فلست سائلا عنها، ولا أرب لي فيها-يعني: الفواحش- ثم قال: أما والذي بعثك بالحق لأعملن بها ومن أطاعني من قومي، ثم رجع، فضحك رسول الله ﷺ حتى بدت نواجده ثم قال: لئن صدق ليدخلن الجنة.
