The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to me one morning and said, "No servant will come on the Day of Resurrection saying 'There is no god but Allah,' seeking thereby the face of Allah, without Allah forbidding the Fire from touching him."
غدا علي رسول الله ﷺ فقال: لن يوافي عبد يوم القيامة يقول: لا إله إلا الله يبتغي به وجه الله إلا حرم الله عليه النار.
Bukhari narrated it in Riqaq (6422-6423), and Muslim in Masajid (33:264), both of them through Mamar, from Zuhri, who said, Mahmud bin Rabi told me, he said, I heard Itban bin Malik Ansari say, and then he mentioned it, and the wording is Bukhari's.
