People were performing tawaf around the House while Ibn Abbas sat with Mihjan beside him, and he said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ recited, 'You who believe, be mindful of Allah as He deserves, and do not die except as Muslims' [Al Imran 3:102]. If a single drop of the infernal tree Zaqqum were to fall, it would embitter the lives of all the people of the earth. So what of those who have no food but Zaqqum?"
أن الناس كانوا يطوفون بالبيت وابن عباس جالس معه محجن، فقال: قال رسول الله ﷺ {يأيها الذين ءامنوا اتقوا الله حق تقاته ولا تموتن إلا وأنتم مسلمون} ولو أن قطرة من الزقوم قطرت لأمرت على أهل الأرض عيشهم، فكيف من ليس لهم طعام إلا الزقوم.
Narrated by Tirmidhi (2585), Ibn Majah (4325), Ahmad (2735), and Ibn Abu Hatim (3/723), and graded sahih by Ibn Hibban (7470) and Hakim (2/294), all of them through routes from Shubah, who said, I heard Sulayman Amash narrate from Mujahid, who said, and he mentioned it.Tirmidhi said, "Hasan sahih."Hakim said, "Sahih according to the criteria of the two sheikhs."
