Utba bin Ghazwan delivered a sermon to us. He praised Allah and extolled Him, then said,"To proceed. This world has announced its departure and turned away in swift retreat. Nothing remains of it except a last trace, like the final drops at the bottom of a vessel that its owner drains. You are moving from it to an abode that will never pass away, so move on with the best of what is in your hands. We have been told that a stone is cast from the edge of Hell and falls through it for seventy years without reaching its bottom, yet by Allah, it shall be filled. Are you astonished?"… and the hadith continues at length.
Muslim narrated it in Zuhd (2967) from Shayban bin Farroukh, who said, Sulayman bin Mughira narrated to us, who said, Humayd bin Hilal narrated to us, from Khalid bin Umayr Adawi, who said, then he mentioned it at length.
