Saeed bin Amir bin Huzaym reported,

Word reached Umar that Rabah was keeping nothing in his house to meet his needs, so Umar sent him ten thousand. Rabah took the money and began to distribute it in small bundles. His wife said to him, "Where are you taking these?"He replied, "I am taking them to those who will multiply their reward for us." He left only a small portion of it.When what they had was exhausted, his wife said to him, "Go to some of those companions of yours to whom you gave the money so they could multiply it for you, and take from their profits." He kept putting her off and stalling her, and this went on for a long time. Then he said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, 'If one of the maidens of Paradise were to show even one of her fingers, every living being would catch her fragrance.' Am I then to forsake them? No, by Allah, you are more deserving that I forsake you for their sake than that I forsake them for your sake."
