He traced it back to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who said, "Musa asked his Lord, 'Who among the people of Paradise has the lowest rank?'Allah said, 'He is a man who comes after the people of Paradise have already been admitted into it. He will be told, "Enter Paradise."He will say, 'My Lord, how can I, when the people have already settled into their places and taken their shares?'He will be asked, 'Would you be content to have the like of the kingdom of one of the kings of this world?'He will say, 'I would be content, my Lord.'Allah will say, 'That is yours, and the like of it, and the like of it, and the like of it, and the like of it.' At the fifth he will say, 'I am content, my Lord.'Allah will say, 'This is yours, and ten times over, and you shall have whatever your soul desires and whatever delights your eye.'He will say, 'I am content, my Lord.'"Musa said, "My Lord, and those of the highest rank?"Allah said, "Those are the ones I chose. I planted their honor with My own hand and sealed it, so no eye has seen it, no ear has heard of it, and no human heart has ever conceived it."He said, and its confirmation in the Book of Allah is, "No soul knows what delight of the eyes has been hidden away for them" [Sajdah 32:17].
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Faith (189) through several routes from Shaybi, reporting from Mughira bin Shuba, who said, "I heard him on the pulpit tracing it back to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ." This hadith has been narrated both as a raised report and as a stopped report, and the ruling is given to the raised version, because it contains additional knowledge. His saying, "I intended," means "I chose and selected."His saying, "I planted their honor," means "I chose them and took charge of them, so no change can find its way into their honor."
