The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "The lowest in rank among the people of Paradise will be a man whose face Allah turns away from the Fire toward Paradise, and there is presented to him the likeness of a shady tree. He will say, 'My Lord, bring me forward to this tree, that I may rest in its shade.'"Then he continued the hadith along the lines of the report of Ibn Masud, but he did not mention, "So He says, 'Son of Adam, will nothing ever satisfy you?'" through to the end of the hadith.He added in it, "And Allah will remind him, 'Ask for such and such.' Then, when his wishes are exhausted, Allah will say, 'It is yours, and ten times the like of it.'"He said, "Then he will enter his house, and his two wives from among the maidens of Paradise will come in to him and say, 'Praise be to Allah, who gave you life for us and gave us life for you.'"He said, "So he will say, 'No one has been given the like of what I have been given.'"
عن أبي سعيد الخدري، أن رسول الله ﷺ قال: إن أدنى أهل الجنة منزلة رجل صرف الله وجهه عن النار قبل الجنة، ومثل له شجرة ذات ظل، فقال: أي رب، قدمني إلى هذه الشجرة أكون في ظلها وساق الحديث بنحو حديث ابن مسعود، ولم يذكر: فيقول: يا ابن آدم، ما يصريني منك؟ إلى آخر الحديث، وزاد فيه: ويذكره الله، سل كذا وكذا، فإذا انقطعت به الأماني، قال الله: هو لك وعشرة أمثاله، قال: ثم يدخل بيته، فتدخل عليه زوجتاه من الحور العين، فتقولان: الحمد لله الذي أحياك لنا، وأحيانا لك، قال: فيقول: ما أعطي أحد مثل ما أعطيت.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Faith (188) from Abu Bakr bin Abu Shayba, who said, Yahya bin Abu Bukayr told us, Zuhayr bin Muhammad told us, from Suhayl bin Abu Salih, from Numan bin Abu Ayyash, from Abu Saeed Khudri, and he related it.Something with the same meaning was reported from Anas, who said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "A man will come out of the Fire and say, 'O Lord, by that mercy which brought me out of the Fire and brought me close to this place, will You not bring me a little closer, to the gate?' Allah will say, 'Son of Adam, what will free you from asking Me? Enter Paradise, and ask for the good things of Paradise.'" He said, "So he will be given what, if it were brought down to the people of earth, would be enough for all of them, of the food, furnishings, and servants that are with him."Abu Naeem narrated it in Sifat al-Jannah (449), from Qadi Abu Ahmad, who said, Hasan bin Ibrahim bin Bashshar told us, Ubaydullah bin Umar told us, Ibn Abu Adi informed me, from Saeed, meaning Ibn Abu Aruba, from Humayd, from Anas, who said, and he related it.In the chain is Saeed bin Abu Aruba, and Muhammad bin Abu Adi's narration from him came after he had become confused in his later years.
